A very professional job with upgrades added at little to no expense. Demolished old porch and added new covered protico with stamped concrete. Also did copper roof over heatalator. Initial communication was fair but when company owner replaced the project manager the communication improved greatly. Note: Project manager no longer with compnay. Would highly recommend company based on workmanship and professionalism. There were cheaper estimates but the old adage applies: “you get what you pay for”.

We never had done any remodeling, but we had heard plenty of horror stories from other people about contractors and remodelers. I couldn’t get anyone to give me a reference, because no one 1 talked to had been happy with their remodeler. So, I turned to Angie’s List and called Duan Carnaby at Under Construction, Inc.

Duan was prompt, courteous and most importantly of all, closely monitored the work being done by the different crews. Duan was enthusiastic about the job from the very start and kept my spirits high throughout the whole project.

When we hit snags, Duan would offer us alternatives and suggested little touches that really made our new great room special.

Duan was always easy to reach and very responsive. In fact, I called at 8:30 one night regarding a small problem, expecting to leave a message on the answering machine. Instead, Duan answered the phone and insisted on coming out right away to make sure the problem did not pose any danger to my family.

The crews were always neat, meticulous and personable, and very respectful about the extra precautions needed to make sure my two-year-old son was always safe.

The job was completed right on time and turned out better than we had anticipated – thanks to Duan’s resolve to do the job the right way. As an example, he had workmen replace the thresholds between the new great room and the rest of the house three times until I was finally happy with them.

With Under Construction, Inc., I now have company I can unreservedly recommend to my friend and neighbors.

Under Construction resided and repainted the exterior of our house, finished our basement into an apartment, and built a cabinet in our kitchen. All of these jobs were done in an absolutely first-class manner. We couldn’t be more pleased with the quality, craftsmanship and attention to detail of the work. The work was done in a timely manner, but not in a hurry and get-it-done manner.

Duan Carnaby, the owner, is very conscientious. He is detail oriented and will do whatever he can to make the job right for you. We used Under Construction for a major remmodeling job in 2002 and were very pleased with Duan and the people he uses. If you are very exacting in your project, this is the company for you.

My house was built is 1871. A portion of the foundation was broken. This was allowing water into the crawlspace and moisture into the basement being in a historic neighborhood, my house is very close to my neighbor’s house I had called four other companies to get a quote for repair, they all walked away without giving me a quote due to the complexity of the project. Duan at Under Construction developed a plan to repair the foundation, gave me a quote, and successfully saw the project through to completion.

Duan and his crew were outstanding Duan oversaw the project and followed up on all details. I appreciated his professionalism. He even stayed in contact with my neighbor since they were working on the property line between our houses. The crew arrived on time, worked long hours, and completed the job ahead of schedule. They did a great job of cleaning up the project area each day before they left and keeping the “mess” under control. As they dug into the crawlspace and found a few unexpected items that needed to be addressed, they were able to quickly fix those for me. too. It was a joy to have such professionals working on my property and a huge relief to have my foundation problem skillfully repaired.

Excellent! I greatly appreciate Duan’s attention to details. He is very professional, courteous, and conscientious of his customer’s goals. He honored my request to be as cost conscious as possible and only replaced trim that was rotten. If something wasn’t done to his or my satisfaction, he had it corrected Duan is wonderful to work with and I wouldn’t hesitate to hire him again.

It was a pretty substantial job. The deck was deteriorating. It’s a nice design. They put in a number of nice lighting features. Their service was excellent. The work went very smoothly.

Would highly recommend this firm to at least provide a bid. They are not the least expensive but the extra costs were well worth the expense. The builder additionally added some upgrades at no cost.

Would do it again in a heartbeat. Duan made the whole experience as stress and trouble free as could be expected. Very proactive. He built our addition as if he were doing it for himself.

We got this company to give us an estimate on a bathroom remodeling job. Duan came in person to estimate, and after consideration, referred us to someone else, since our job was smaller than what he liked to accept.

They remodeled our kitchen, bathroom, and laid a hardwood floor in the living room. The people that they contracted to do the actual work were wonderful. They did excellent work and we were very pleased.
